Purple Poppy Appeal during July

Purple Poppy Appeal

Many of our Warwick residents may be aware of St Marys Poppy Appeal 2018, http://www.warwickpoppies.org.uk/

Having being involved with Sing Live Choir at a fundraiser for the appeal at the Lord Leycester Hospital it struck me that having some purple poppies in the church would also be quite touching.

Purple poppies are used to commemorate all the animal deeds and sacrifices in war.

St Marys have said they are happy for Emscote Vets to collect some purple poppies during July which we will then have placed in the church in remembrance of all the animals.

It would be lovely if our clients or your children made some purple poppies either using paper or knitting or crochet during July only. Follow this link for patterns to try

If we can get enough purple poppies collected then Jo our nurse who is very artistic will make a template of a horse’s head and a dog’s head which we could cover with the poppies.

Please have a go and bring your purple poppies into the surgery by the first week of August as this is what suits St Mary’s organisers.

Many thanks

🙂 Mary
