Microchipping

Helping to reunite you with your pet

Microchipping is now mandatory for all dogs and we would like to see all cats chipped too. Rabbits can also be microchipped. It involves implanting a small inert chip into the scruff region using a large needle, each one has a unique code which has your contact data linked to it.

This can be done in conscious animals or when they are in for an operation. It is a really good opportunity to implant while your animal is being neutered.

Whenever a stray animal and new pet is brought into our practice we will scan them using a handheld reader, and then can contact the central database to find the owner’s details.

You can get your pet microchipped when you join the Pet Health Club!
